About this deal

One of the reasons why Nicholson stole the scene from his Batman co-star Michael Keaton was a treasure trove of endlessly repeatable Joker quotes that continue to stand the test of time. Few film versions were as chatty as Burton's, and because of that, the debate will continue to rage on as to who the best Joker was. Michael Keaton’s return to the role of Batman in The Flash movie gave chills to DC fans! Expanding on the current Bat collection, Hot Toys is introducing a brand new 1/6th scale Batman collectible figure based on Tim Burton’s Batman (1989). I'm pretty sure that some of the unsourced images in this article came from Figure Realm, so I'm just going to give them a shout out, regardless. They have a neat section on the Toy Biz Batman toy line. One (1) newly developed Batman head with separate rolling eyeball function and three (3) interchangeable faces capturing Batman’s facial expressions Kenner Dark Knight Collection Bruce Wayne Batman.Hands down my favorite figure in the Dark Knight Collection line. The likeness of Michael Keaton is still the best unmasked sculpt produced to date. Sure, the armor looks a bit clunky when in use, but there’s no denying the cool factor of putting the chest armor, gloves, boots and cape and cowl onto this figure. He looks fantastic just holding the cowl as well. Despite the fan outcry that followed his casting, Keaton’s nuanced, and damaged Batman has endured, and reached a new level of appreciation among many fans. With our beloved Adam West gone, he is to many the living embodiment of the Dark Knight of our youth. And who wouldn’t love to see him play Bruce Wayne once more in a Batman Beyond film? Meticulous and faithful recreation of Micheal Keaton’s remarkable appearance as Batman in Batman (1989), the highly-detailed DC Comics action figure features a newly developed Batman head with separate rolling eyeballs and interchangeable lower faces techniques design; a specialized body highlighting Batman’s muscular form; the newly designed Batsuit to mimic the material appearance; unique Bat gadgets including grapple gun, a gauntlet with line launcher, rope attached Batarang, ninja wheels, smoke capsules; also accessories including a white heel shoe, Batmobile remote, bomb timer, and punch gear. To accompany the 1989 Batmanfigures, Toy Bizalso produced additional DC Comics Super Heroes-- namely Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor andsome extra Bat-villains (Penguin, Riddler, Mr Freeze). A second wave of Toy BizDC action figures would then yield comic fans a Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Hawkman and a Two-Face, but that will be an article for another time. Toy Biz Batman Batmobile.Toy Biz’s Batmobile is a pretty solid depiction of the Anton Furst-designed car…minus the roof, unfortunately. No doubt left off to accommodate Batman’s ears and the gear shift that shot missiles from under the machine-gun hoods. The convertible design makes it an odd hybrid of the ’80s and ’60s Batmobiles. Later releases of the car came with the armored cocoon seen in the film, so I wish I’d held out a bit on this one! well, not really,... but it does make me want to reminisce about it. Namely, those very cool Batman action figures released by Toy Biz in 1989:

What was fun about The Batcave was that it was actually two locales in one. The front of the playset was the Batcave (as seen in the film): Chad from the Horror Movie BBQ was super cool in allowing us to use his Batcave photos for this article. Chad also writes really fun articles about all the memorabilia I grew up collecting.
